Why do most people wear make-up and do their hair before the work? If people do not do these, they do not need to spend much time in the morning. In fact, I usually sent too much time to prepare to go to school. According to sociologist Jaclyn Wong and Andrew Penner, appearing people get paid their appearances around 20 per cent more than what they called “average” people. Furthermore, they found physically attractive men and women were likely to earn more than average looking employees. They also said that more a women pay attention to her looks, the more attractive she appeared. The study was conducted by the University of Chicago and California. The researchers analyzed information from 14000 participants who were asked about their salary, job, education, personality, social behavior and other characteristics. In addition, the interviewer were asked to rate each participant on how attractive and well-groomed they were. As a result, researchers said people tend to be biased when it comes beauty because of a “halo effect”. People tend to think someone who is attractive on the outside will also be beautiful on the inside. Also, they said that the idea that humans are influenced by beauty bias is not new.

              I think that making-up and paying attention to my appearance is important to go outside or in work place because this action could connect to make a good impression. For example, if someone who looks beautiful and care about her looks goes to other companies to make a contract, this company’s employee thinks she must be good worker, and this contract could work well. However, if someone who looks not good, this person could make bad impression for other companies. Therefore, I think good looks would connect to good impression. In fact, my university, which is women’s university, have a class to learn how to make-up when students take a job interview. It is because attractive person tend to get a good job. Therefore, making-up and caring about looks is important to work in the world. These things also could lead to make a good relationship. Of course only outside is not important, some people are good person or other people have a lot of friends if they looks not good. However, first impression is made in too short time, so if you will meet someone at first time, you should pay attention to your looks. Thank you for reading.
