These days, it is cold and windy. What would you like to eat during winter? I like eating hot pot, especially spicy one during such a cold winter. I think spicy foods make our body warm. But, do you know why it makes us warm? Then, I was interested in effect of spicy foods, and I found interesting article. This article explains spicy foods affect our body positively and suggest us to eat spicy foods for our health.

              Firstly, spicy foods boost the metabolism. When you eat spicy food, you may sweat a lot. The article says that capsaicin, the active ingredient in hot chili peppers, may boost metabolism. Additionally, it also strengthen the cardiovascular system and help reduce high blood pressure and obesity. Therefore, someone who would like to reduce his weight or is high blood pressure should eat spicy foods. It is one of the diet food or medicine.

              Secondly, eating spicy food makes us live longer. Researchers from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in the US said people who regularity ate hot red chili peppers had a 13 percent reduced risk of premature death compared with those who did not eat them. It is because hot red chili peppers was linked to a lower risk of death from cancer, heart disease and breathing problems. Therefore, it is possible to say Asians, who usually eat spicy foods, live longer than other country’s people.

              After reading the article, I thought US, which has problem about obesity, should offer people to eat more spicy foods instead of sweets or junk foods. Of course eating spicy food is not only solution, but it is one of the easier way to reduce their weights. Therefore, I think people should know some effects of hot red chili pepper, and accept them in their lives.

              In conclusion, spicy foods could affect our body positively, such as to boost metabolism and to make us live longer. Personally, I like eating spicy foods, including spicy hot pot, kimchi or curry. And now, I understand these are good at my health, so I will continue to eat them. In addition, if you eat something, I recommend to add a spicy taste. It was a good news for lovers for spicy food, but be careful to eat too much hot red chili pepper. Sometimes it lead to death.
