Today, I want to talk about the spring festival in china, and the spring festival is the most important festival in china. At that time, there are many people and they need to go back hometown to meet their family members and we can get very long vacation. 

     At my hometown, at that day, everyone need go back to hometown to see their family members. Before that day, we need to prepare everything that we need, and we can watch TV with family member. There are story that talk about the monster Nian. 

    Nian is the ancient myths and legends in the evil beast. According to legend, at the end of midnight in spring festival, the beast will attack the village, where the beast was occupied by the village are subjected to brutal massacre, the head of the horn is the slaughter of weapons. After the massacre, the beast will eat all the baby.People use the beast of the three major weaknesses, put firecrackers (will be scared of the beast), paste couplets, driven of the beast attack. In order to prevent the re-harassment of the beast, put firecrackers, paste couplets gradually become a festival in China. Therefore we need fire the work in spring festival. 

    Because of the Nian, the adult need to protect their children. Then we stay together to help others. Finally, the adult go outside to fight with Nian, the baby stay along. There are other monster whose name is Sui. Sui is the monster that eat the baby’s brain. But Sui has a weakness that like money. So we will put the red backpack in front of the bed. People think that it can protect their child. So there are other rule is we need to take the red backpack.

    Finally, I can’t go back to China and I can’t fire the work. Because I stay in America. I have a friend to have dinner with foreign friends

The Magic of Arabian Deserts

               Many people think that desert is a lifeless land because it is a barren land where rains are barley occurs. Where the climate is the hottest climate in comparison with the other lands. Where no water and no plants are easy to find. Where few animals, which adapted with this harsh weather, can live. They think that it just a hazardous and empty land which does not have any life resources, so it is impossible to live there. However, some people lived in the desert with all of these challenges. Their lives were in risk, but they didn’t give up. They survived in the desert with all risks that you could imagine. How are those people?  why did they choose to live there? And where did they live?

              Arabian desert is considered one of the biggest desert in the whole world. It is not one desert, but it is a chain of deserts extended from North Africa to the Western Asia. It includes Sahra Al-kubra, which covered the 9,200,000 square kilometers from the North Africa, so it is comparable to the area of the United State, and considered as a hottest desert in the world. Also, Arabian deserts includes Al-Rub’alkhali, which is the largest sand desert in the world. It located in 4 Arabian countries Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen and UAE. In these hot and dried deserts culture was raised.

The Life in the desert:

             The Bedouins are Arabic people who used to live in these deserts. They didn’t travel to other lands because they were born in this desert, so this desert identifies them. This desert is their land regardless the difficulties of living there, it is as a haven in their eyes. They raised their culture in this land where no one could survive, that is an accomplishment for them. They were many clans. Each clan has its own members. The members of the clan had to travel and find their food together that helped them to survive in the desert. The camels and horses were their transportation. They had temporary houses instead of permanent houses because they should travel to search for food and water every time if they want to survive, so that was their daily routine, and that was their simple life which is full risks.

                                 The way to the freedom:

              As soon as the oil was discovered in Arabian deserts Between the 19 and 20 centuries, the big countries including Great Britain, France and Ottoman Empire wanted to occupy this land. The Arabian’s lands were under Ottoman Empire protection. Ottoman Empire treated Arabic people badly in this period of time by requiring Arabic people to speak Turkish instead of Arabic, and ignoring their rights. As a result, these things generated a hatefulness to Ottoman Empire. In the war world 1, Ottoman Empire was with Germany side against Great Britain and France. Great Britain exploited the Arabic hatefulness to Ottoman Empire by promising the Arab Bedouins if they help to attack Ottoman Empire and destroy its oil resources, they will give them back their land from Ottoman Empire. The Arabic did the revolution of freedom and attacked Ottoman Empire, because they wanted to free their lands that made Ottoman Empire weak. As a result, Great Britain won the war, but they didn’t do their promise to the Arabic. Instead of that they occupied their lands lust for the oil. The Arabic were shocked when they knew about that. Therefore, they did many revolutions to take their land back, so they attacked the British army, which was well armed. Thousands of Arabic died in that attack. Also, British attacked many Arab villages by aircrafts, so it was bloody attacks many people died including children and women. After several British’s attacks, the revolution stopped. The Arabic wished if there is no oil in their land because the oil is the main reason that made the other countries want to occupy this land. After the end of the Arab revolution, the one country was divided into 22 countries by Great Britain and France to make sure it is impossible to return them into one country again that made them weaker than they used to be.

 

         Between 1946 to 1989, all the Arabian countries have become free after the all sacrifices. The deserts were being changed into a modern cites. The economy of Arab countries has improved that changed the life in this region from a harsh life into an easy life. Also, many Arabic countries are in top of the welfare counters in the world. Thanks to all people who sacrificed for the freedom and Thanks to all people who helped to build our lands. Thanks to all people who narrated our glory history to make it permanent . We will not forget you.

   One day, I read an article which mentioned Feminist and Diet. The main topic is that 'I am a feminist (or I am interested in feminism), is not it overly concerned with diet?' If they are Ideal feminists, they would refuse the society's order to maintain a pretty appearance and slim figure for women.

   Reporter refer to book "Aesthetics and feminism in appearance" (Kim Joo-hyun, Bookworld, 2009) and explains that this anxiety is another pressure on women. Asceticism is a prescription for a command to "Be indifferent to the appearance of a woman, if women be interested in the appearance, only becomes a target of men’s gaze." (Text 116p) This pressure becomes a double suppression for feminists. I live by listening to be constantly beautiful from society, but when I do a diet or makeup, I feel guilty. Sometimes I hear "I wonder why you are (feminist) makeup and diet?"

   The author says that aesthetic asceticism can be an alternative to lookism but aesthetic asceticism is not a viable alternative. According to the author, aesthetic asceticism serves as a double suppression to women and deprives them of their right to do a diet and makeup. The author argues that women become subject of constant scorn and derogation whether they are decorated or not, whether they are beautiful or not in case of women being subject to men’s attention. (125p) Actually, in many cases, the aesthetic standards of women (in the case of heterosexual men) are met with male standards. Advertising texts of many women's shopping malls are flooded by modifiers such as "men’s throbbing heart" and "men's favorite". These advertisements say "Enjoy attention." but they are actually pushing you to "You must have a beautiful body and face in order to get the attention of men."

   This book says that we need a new ‘aesthetics of decorating appearance’. It is not the gaze of society, the gaze of men, but the aesthetics of oneself. First, you have to think about whether you are unnecessarily conscious of someone's gaze. This book points out that we think too much about "I am lovely to others?" In this question, 'I' is the object and only the standard of the other person judges me. No one ask my judgment or pleasure at this time.

   In my opinion, it seems very difficult to find such beauty in standardized appearance-oriented society. It is almost impossible to distinguish between what is my aesthetics and what is aesthetics injected by society. However, I think that it is necessary to look back that I have a critical mind about the standard of beauty careful only for the woman and whether I was educated in the society either. And the most important thing is that "Can I get out without decorating?" It looks like a very similar proposition, but the facts are completely different. I want everyone to know the difference between "I like decorating" and "I can’t get out of decorating."

The Effect of Spicy Foods

These days, it is cold and windy. What would you like to eat during winter? I like eating hot pot, especially spicy one during such a cold winter. I think spicy foods make our body warm. But, do you know why it makes us warm? Then, I was interested in effect of spicy foods, and I found interesting article. This article explains spicy foods affect our body positively and suggest us to eat spicy foods for our health.

              Firstly, spicy foods boost the metabolism. When you eat spicy food, you may sweat a lot. The article says that capsaicin, the active ingredient in hot chili peppers, may boost metabolism. Additionally, it also strengthen the cardiovascular system and help reduce high blood pressure and obesity. Therefore, someone who would like to reduce his weight or is high blood pressure should eat spicy foods. It is one of the diet food or medicine.

              Secondly, eating spicy food makes us live longer. Researchers from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in the US said people who regularity ate hot red chili peppers had a 13 percent reduced risk of premature death compared with those who did not eat them. It is because hot red chili peppers was linked to a lower risk of death from cancer, heart disease and breathing problems. Therefore, it is possible to say Asians, who usually eat spicy foods, live longer than other country’s people.

              After reading the article, I thought US, which has problem about obesity, should offer people to eat more spicy foods instead of sweets or junk foods. Of course eating spicy food is not only solution, but it is one of the easier way to reduce their weights. Therefore, I think people should know some effects of hot red chili pepper, and accept them in their lives.

              In conclusion, spicy foods could affect our body positively, such as to boost metabolism and to make us live longer. Personally, I like eating spicy foods, including spicy hot pot, kimchi or curry. And now, I understand these are good at my health, so I will continue to eat them. In addition, if you eat something, I recommend to add a spicy taste. It was a good news for lovers for spicy food, but be careful to eat too much hot red chili pepper. Sometimes it lead to death. ¿Have you ever listened Spanish music? Since I was born my mother was singing me Spanish songs and I really love this music. Maybe is because the music is from my country or maybe is because the lyric and the melody are really good. Although I love other types of music like international pop music but I have really affection for Spanish music.
One of my favorites singer is India Martinez and one of my favorite song is “HOY” I suggest you to listen this song, is really amazing, overall the lyric, if you don’t understand Spanish you could find the song translate in youtube. Other Spanish band that I like to listen is “Morat” this type of music makes me feel really happy even if I had a horrible day. Finally, I will tell you my favorite singer, “Alejandro Sanz” this singer is famous in South America too because he has really good songs. In conclusion I like almost all the Spanish music (from Spain) and I would be listening them all the day.

  The book, “What is history”, by E.H. Carr, the author explains some ideas that people never think before about history and facts. He said “History… is a continuous process of interaction between the historian and his facts, an unending dialogue between the present and the past.” It can look so naturally to us but that time it was not. First of all, He pointed that people can’t be fee from his background like where they were born, where they grow up, and what time they were born. It means that historian also is influenced by his background. E.H.Carr also confess that he has positive prospect about future and history because he grow up the time in which people think future positively.

  Next, He pointed out that the pure fact in history cannot exist. Because when historian choose the time or facts, that time his supervision intervene to the choice. So historian can’t show pure facts that what did in past. Some historian facts which historian think it is important are chosen and  written in the way historian thinks. Historians interpret the facts and it turns to new things mixture of historian and facts. That is why Carr said History is the interaction between the historian and his facts. His facts means that the fact which he chosen. And Historians lives in present that time. So it can be dialogue between the present(the historian) and the past(the fact). Then Why Did Carr say it continuous and unending? Its because life goes on and history keep going. Historians continue to interpret past and it makes history continuously. Before Carr said, Many historians thought that historians should show history as it really was. And they tried to eliminate their own thinking when they wrote history. But Carr pointed that their thinking starts to intervene before writing. And after Carr, many historian thinks it is impossible that show past as it was.

Carr said study in history is study of cuases. Cause is from the question why and answer of it. And the method of study is diversification from many causes and simplification from choosing one cuase. In one historic event, there are usually a lot of causes. What historian should do is searching that facts which influence to the event and choosing the most influential cause. It can show what important the historian think. For example, there is a car accident, and there are several causes like drinking alchol and bad weather and curvy road.. etc. And historian can choose the fact which he think most important. If he choose drinking alcohol as most critical cause, he might insist the dangerousness of drunk driving. If he choose a bad condition of road as the most important reason of the accident, he will claim about construction roads.

Money is a sample which made from paper or other materials, and the monetary value varies according to its state. Also, money is something important nowadays, because nobody can live without money. To give you example, the homeless all over the world, who are always ask for, are suffering from poverty. However, people waste their money for useless things. For example, many people love to collect statues, and those statues cost a lot of money. Another example is, when people waste money they feel happy, because they have something to do. Last reason is people buy something they don’t need. For example many people watch TV and while they are watching the see something when its ads time , so they go and buy this thing just because they like not because they need it. However, there is many several ways to save your money.

               First, you have to open saving account for your bank account, so you can make sure that there is extra money in your account will help in the futer.in another word discourages your reckless spending, because its easier to spend money in your pocket than draw money from the ATM or go to your bank and take money from your saving account. Instead of wasting your money in junks, you can give some donation to the charity, and help poor people who need this money. Second, make a journal for the money you spent vs the money you make, and look at the difference between them, so you know how you spent your money. Also, if you need to buy something you can look for a pre-owned copy, because it’s going to be cheaper so you don’t have to waste your money on a new one. Moreover, you can buy things with coupons, so you get a discount and the product which you will buy will become cheaper.

               These days’ people activates is rising. With every day pass millions of dollars, dinars, and euros are spent especially for restaurants and fast food. People have to find ways to use less money, or stay home without doing activates that going to cost them money. For example, people who love to collect, they have to stop collecting, and selling.

 My major is Polymer science and engineering that most people do not know. I understand because even I had not known this kind of study before I submitted the application to my university in Korea. Actually, polymers are one of the big parts of our lives. They are very close to our lives so it is easy to find them everywhere. 

 There are roughly three kinds of materials in the world: metal, ceramic, polymer. Among them, polymer is commonly called ‘Plastic’. Maybe you have heard of this term at least once. Academically, polymer is a substance that has over 10000 mw with repeating units bonded covalently together in one molecular. It sounds difficult but DNA, protein and carbohydrates also can be categorized to the polymer because they have certain repeating structure in one molecular. Polymers have less strength and durable can be easily processed compared to ceramics and metals so they can be widely used in our lives.

 Generally, polymers come from the patrol energy. Polymers are synthesized by using basic materials from the chemicals which have simple structures such as ethylene gas. We can easily get simple structured chemicals from the patrol energy so until now patrol energy is very important source to synthesize polymers.

There are roughly two kinds of polymers; one is thermoplastic which can be melted when heated and the other is thermosetting plastic, so called resin, which cannot be melted but degraded. Thermoplastic can be remolded by heating again, but thermosetting plastic can be recycled by using another way. Therefore we usually collect plastics separately because they have to be treated in different way. There is a triangle with number on every plastic goods.

The used plastics which cannot be recycled are buried or burned. It takes over 100 years to be degraded naturally when buried and the toxic chemical such as dioxane and hydrogen cyanide come out when burned. These cause serious soil and air pollution.

 Therefore, one of the important studies in polymer field is that finding new polymer which can be synthesized eco-friendly and also bio-degradable. For example, PHB(Polyhydroxybutyrate) is synthesized by certain bacteria, Recombinant E. Coli, and we can adjust this polymer’s properties such as strength by introducing other polymers. Also, this biopolymer is broken down into sugars and fatty acids and finally they become carbon dioxide and water so they can be used in our bodies as medical devices such as bioresorbable surgical suture (string) and biodegradable screw & plates for cartilage and bone fixation.

  In addition to biopolymer, there are many ongoing studies in the field such as semi-conductor and display industries, 3D-printer and engineering plastics. I am going to choose one of these fields and do a master’s degree in it.

     The law which is a jury in a criminal do not investigate information about the defendant’s past criminal record in British and Australia. Some people are endorser of a foremost idea and they think that this law do not give the information for others because criminals have human rights as well as ordinary citizens. But other think that this law should be changed a new law that give all the past criminal information because these records help juror to grasp criminal’s personality in judgement. From my viewpoint, the aforementioned this law should not be changed a new one and I am an advocate of the law which dose not change.

     The first foremost an advantage of the idea of the law that is a jury in a criminal suggest past record of criminal is that juror is able to focus on judging criminal. For example, if jurors have defendant’s past criminal record, they are distracted by these informations. Moreover, they are not able to make a proper judgement. Therefore, information that is past criminal records do not need in judgement.

     In addition, another merits of the issue in question is that innocent criminal argument is vanished by information that is past criminal record. For instance, if criminal is innocent in this incident, past criminal information disturb in this incident because juror image that there is a possibility of a criminal. Thus, past criminal information records may cause mistakes about juror’s judgement.

     On the other hand, the drawback of the thesis in question is that past criminal records are able to help jurors who image criminal personality. For example, if jurors know criminal personality, they are able to grasp the tendency of crime. Therefore, these information help jurors to judge correctly.

     In conclusion, I agree with this idea that do not give information about past criminal records because, in my opinion, advantages of the law that is about past criminal records far outweighs its disadvantage. I concede that these information break in juror’s decision in the judgement, but jurors are able to grasp criminal personality to judge correctly from past criminal records. As a result, if juror are able to have past criminal’s records, these documents may afflict criminals to disturb correct judgement. But if juror do not misunderstand how to use these documents, these documents are able to help criminals in judgement.

            Do you think Advertisements have a dark side? Or do you think Advertisements only provide beneficial things? As we know, advertising plays momentous role in each society. It can change the whole world in a short time whether in a positive or negative way. Indeed, advertisings is harmful to people because of two specific reasons: influence on kids and consumers deception.

            Advertisements are damaging in view of the fact that they have particularly huge effects on children. According to my viewpoint the content of advertisements may be inappropriate for children. A case in point is that is kids see unethical ads, they might impact kid's behavior, and they could affect their ethics. In addition, the advertising may promote social evils. As a result, it may make children become more aggressive, offensive, and violent. Moreover, it might influence children's minds, and it may affect their bodies too. To give an example, some advertising claims that soda gives us a lot of energy, but soda is very harmful for us especially our kids because they engage in an important stage of confirmation and maturity. Last but not least, some advertising may cause obesity. It may show some illegal ads for kids such as drugging, drinking, and smoking. Finally, ads may waste time particularly for kids. In other words, ads appear too long, so ads may consume their time without any benefits. Advertising is used to promote some products in order to make those products appealing to people, so people decide to buy them even if they do not need them.

            Advertisements have another negative side when they are used to deceive people. They show different products from the real ones because of how want to purchase something that does not appear good, so companies' a lot of trick to improve their products, or they send many positive messages about their products that may be false. Consequently, the customers will be confused when they see those ads, and they will be changed from real purchase to unaware purchase. Furthermore, ads may offer some products to the public that may cause some problems. One good illustration for this is that some ads might demonstrate products that cause health problems including, fast food advertising. Another issue is the advertisements may affect an environment, or they may cause economic problems. Not only that, the ads might give us wrong information. The advertisements may provide good information to us, but the information may be not true. It means that it may give us false facts. Take, for example, if someone sees a medical ad that may provide wrong information, she or he will follow that medical advice that may affect their general health.

            In conclusion, actually advertisements have drawbacks such as it impacts on children, and it deceives customers. When people understand advertisements better, they will face disadvantages; as a result, they will feel comfortable because they will be conscious about negative and positive sides of advertisements.

Have you thought about differences between cats and dogs? For whatever reason, people assume dogs are more intelligent and smart than cats. This notion has been called into question between scientists. Also, this notion has been discussed by cat lovers and dog lovers. Now, some scientist in japan had tested 49 cats and found some evidence which can tell that cats are as clever as dogs. According to, “Cats vs Dogs”, written by a researcher at Kyoto University, says that cats can recall as well as dogs. The Japanese team has tested how cats can remember as well. The team got cats to eat from one of two bowls. Fifteen minutes later, the cats were tested on their ability to remember which bowl they had eaten from. The cats could remember that. Their memories are as well as dogs. The team also says that the cats have a variety of mental. When cats remember past things, they think in a similar way to human do.

The study is good news for my mother and me because we are cat lovers. Especially my mother is a crazy cat lady. My mother breeds our cats, so it helps us to understand cat emotions deeply. We never understand their emotions exactly, so we have always assumed their emotions. As at the test, sometimes we can understand in simple ways. For example, when my cats want food, they always stand in front of bowls which they always have eaten from. So, we can understand that they want food. This behavior is because they can remember the place where they have eaten.

While I love cats, I love dogs too. I have a dog which is Labrador retriever in my home. She is cute especially she behave like an idiot. Also, she is intelligence when I go outside with her. She always walks slowly as I walk and watch me in sideway because she wants to see that I follow her. This behavior is like a human. But, as I said, sometimes she behaves as an idiot. The over past a year, she wanted to into our house and she tried to, but she couldn’t into our house because she had been hit by an invisible window, so she afraid that there are invisible walls in this time.

Anyway, I think cats and dogs are very cute animals!! I really want them now, but my apartment doesn’t allow having any pets. Now, I have a question for you!! Which one do you prefer?

I have traveled many country. I traveled China, Japan, USA, Austrailia. Let me introduce my travel

experience. My first experience of travel is Japan. I visit Japan because buy game instrument which

called NINTENDO. But I fascinated with beauty of Japan. Japanese traditional dress is Kimono. Kimono is

best beautiful dress which I have ever seen. And Japanese people almost polite and clean. I think

Japanese don’t like cause any trouble. But shortcoming of Japanese is don’t much friendly with other

people. They don’t tease any other people, but they don’t closer with their colleague. Other spect of

Japan is very beautiful ceremony. They put Lantern on street, and It’s very beautiful. And Japanese

traditional food which called sushi is very delicious. There are many delicious sushi restaurant. And there

are many master of sushi. Master artisan  in Japan is Japanese best quality.

And I also visit in Austraila. Austrailia is very big country which I have ever experienced. Austrailia has

 many floral resource, and much of region is filled with dust. Yes, it is desert! Austrilia has a fascinating

 history. The origin of Austrailian is prisoner of british. These british came to austrailia with ship. But

 austrailian who I met was almost kind, gentle and can make friends easily. The diffence between

 Austraillian and Japanese is these quality. I go to school of austrailia when I was been austrailia. And

there are many good facility which we can use. Austrailia is famous of travel and opera. I go to opera

house of Sydney. Sydney is fantastic. There are very beautiful views. And they has also lake. Lake has a

 pure water and there live fishes. I feed fishes with snacks. And there is many artist in Sydney. Because

of sydeny’s fame of culture. I have ever seen naked person in Sydney.

Also I have traveled China. I received reward of traveling china because I devoted a kind of organization.

 The organization has a lot of money.  And china is very vast country which I have traveled. China has a

 lot of food because of Chinese has lots of appetite for food. For those reasons, I have ate many kind of

food. And There are a lot of sea food and beef cousine. Chinese habit of eating food is sitting in circle

and push circle and turning the dish and eating. It is fun for me.

Chines New Year-Don

Today is Chinese New Year, Chinese New Year is Lunar calendar's January 1^st . This is the most important day of every Chinese. In that day, no matter how busy, they will definitely back home to celebrate New Year with their family. They are not only celebrate with their own small family, but also will celebrate with a big family that contain their  grandparents and their parents’s brother and sister, also contain their children. In one day before Lunar calendar’s January 1^st , they will don’t eat all the morning and afternoon, but they will eat ornate diner that they make it before evening in the evening. Then they will talk and play together until midnight that is January 1^st ‘s 0:00. In that time, they will say happy New Year and some congratulations to the elders. The elders will give red envelopes, which include some money inside , to their children. After that , they go bed. In the first day of Chinese New Year, they will eat ornate lunch together again. And they will take light fireworks to celebrated in the night. In the second day, they will go friends’s  home celebrated to them. After some days, they will repeat that again again. Until the 15st of the year, they have the Lantern Festival that is a other big festival of Chinese people. In the Lantern Festival, they will eat Lantern which is a features food of Chinese people. After the Lantern festival, they will end their holiday and start work. These all about Chinese New Year.

I saw a video which is uploaded on Youtube. And I want you play this if you interest. It is famous for cause of divorcing. It means many people divorce because of this game, usually, it takes husband’s attraction for their family. Even if it’s famous for this, I like this game for some reasons.

 First, you can make your own team. What are your the most favorite team and league? There are many football teams and leagues. For example, Juventus, Chelsea, PSG and so on. And leagues of soccer are very many at all over the world. For instance, EPL. Italy soccer league, Spain soccer league and so on. If you play Football Manager 2017, you can choose one of your favorite team. And you participate a league. If you are score very well in your league, you can participate in Champions League like in real world. Also, you can draft soccer player who you like, it makes more fun this game. If you want to make your dream team, you can draft all famous player in the world who you like. It means if you want, you make your team in Ronaldo and Messi in a same team. You can draft not only famous player but also rising star, it makes your team is much stronger. Second, it is very fun for everybody even if you don’t know about soccer. I believe if you know about soccer very well, then it would be more fun. But there is no problem because you don’t know soccer at all. When you play this game, on computer screen, it shows soccer players as each circle. So you can understand what is going on, who scored a goal. It makes you more interest in Football Manager. And it reveals how soccer players in game feel like, you can choose what you should say. Sometimes. Your player would be felt better by your advice, on the other hand, your player would be felt worse by your advice. So, everything in Football Manager, you can recognize what happens in the game.

The best city of the world

The title of this post is “the best city of the world” as you will have seen. I suppose that you are wondering which is that city but I'm not going to tell you yet. I’m going to start giving you some clues. Let’s see if you can guess.

The geography of the city is particular. It has a lot of high buildings and there are a lot of traffic as well. If we look from the window of a sixth floor of any building in the city we can see how it is surrounded by mountain on one side and on the other side of sea, the Mediterranean Sea.

This city is considerate a big city with a 4,7 million of people who are very helpful and happy and most of them are dedicated on tourism businesses.

I'm going to give you another clue that is the bes thing for me of the city and of the country which is located. Without a doubt, the food. We can find a huge variety of foods which are all delicious like "paella", "jamón serrano", "tortilla de patatas" and a large list of homemade food. I think that this clue it can help you to figure it out which city is or at least which country.

I can say that this city is really famous around the world and one of the reason why this city it became really famous is about their soccer team with many good players from all over the world. Is the last clue that I'm going to give you I hope you guess which city is, I was born there.

           I am going to  introduce myself. I come form Beijing , China. My name is WuLei and you can call me, lei. At my family I have four family numbers that my mother, my father, my young brother and me. 

           First of all I will introduce my hometown, Beijing. Beijing is a beautiful city that is  long-history city, and you can see the the Tiananmen that is center of Beijing. Tiananmen has a long history, and there is the house of emperor. Beijing has a lot of scenic and whether  you like to travel or not, these sports should not be missed. 

           Secondly, I will show you my hobbies that like music, games and eating.

           As you known, anything is eatable in China. Now, I tall you a story. In china, we don’t have the lobster, there are some people take them come to China. And you can guess. There are many lobster, and nobody can stop them. Finally, they were found by Chinese. Nowadays, the lobster is the delicious  food. In China, there are a lot of delicious food, and I can cook some food. For example, I can cook the Kung Pao chicken. China have long history but there are many things can't maintain. Only the food culture can keep for a thousand years.  

           With the music,I can play the saxophone. I like pop music and my favorite singer is joy who is Chinese. If you can play other instrument, can teach me. I want to learn more instruments. I also like sing song, but my voice not good.

           I like play the games. Some people say that I take long time  to play the game and it is the reason why I don't have girl friend. I think it isn't right.  I often play the LOL(league of legends), maybe we can play together.

           Finally, I will talk about my family numbers. My mother and my father are very nice people. However, my young brother is the big problem in my family. He has a intelligence and wisdom, but he doesn't study. 

Julian - On love as a student

Nowadays As a student, it’s very hard to love someone and keep relationship. There are a lot of things to deal with. We should study for many exam and do some international activities like voluntary service and attending competition. And some students should have part-time job for their tution fee or some extra activities. Also we should study some foreign languages. We have no time to love. And it can connect to money problem. We have no time to work for a lot of money. And love needs money. It makes some harder and harder to love. So some students think love as an obstacle to their study or future. I think this is the real problem that makes love hard. Because most of all people have same problem either they love or not. And after we get a job and earn money, this situation will not change. Without changing in our mind, we can’t start love.

 A writer whom I respect said that people need 4 things to keep and improve their personality. That is work, love, play and solidarity. All of these are necessary to human life. Love is not a obstacle to your life but a foundation of your life. It makes you understand other people and difference more. You can heard other people’s thinking and you can forgive other’s fault with love. It can bring happiness to your life. Sometimes it can bring also sadness and anger but it also needs to your personality. And some people think that the goal of love is keeping relationship or marriage. I think there is a lot of shape of love in our world. Love can include parting. Sometimes parting makes love more beautiful. Keeping relationship or marriage is not goal. And it is also very important for growing student. Erich Fromm said that people should learn about true love. It means love can be taught. So if you don’t learn about love when you are student, it’s very hard to learn when you grow up. I think we should love others and think others. And change thinking about love and erasing misunderstanding about love can help you escape from hesitancy. When people change their mind, and understand need of love, they can make time to love and overcome some problems. And with love, they can grow up and can be a better person who can love and understand different people.

<Fascinated by Hong Kong>

 Have you ever been to Hong Kong? I have been there twice in 2016. When I first got there in February, I was really fascinated with the city so I went there again in November. Hong Kong is well known as the shopping city since the city do not charge tax to imported goods and many brand-new models of each brand are introduced fast in there. However, I was not interested in the shopping during the short travel. But there were many things to enjoy in there instead of shopping. There are three big reasons I decided to go Hong Kong again.

 The first thing is the combination with the nature and buildings. During my first visit in Hong Kong, I was going to see night view from the Victoria peak, which was the nice place to view all the tall buildings along the islands. However, my friend and I changed the plan to go another place because of the bad weather condition. It was Nan Lian garden we chose instead. There was well designed garden and also very next to the garden, there was Chi Lin nunnery. These green places were near the apartment buildings and I think it was very exotic.

 The second thing is the foods in Hong Kong. There are many special foods such as Hong Kong style milk tea, dumplings, noodles and craps. Especially I was impressed when I ate dumplings. Even though there were very simple ingredients in dumplings like shrimp or pork, their flavor were really good. I had eaten Korean dumplings which includes various kinds of ingredients so it was very fresh for me to have Hong Kong dumplings. There are many kinds of dumplings and among them the dumpling called Prawn-Hargow was the best for me.

The last thing is the public transportation. There are many kinds of transportation in Hong Kong such as bus, taxi, metro and ferry. Like in Korea, I could go anywhere in Hong Kong by using public transportation and also the cost was so reasonable. Furthermore, they came frequently so I could save time to be on the street to wait for them.

 I really enjoy going trip. There are many fantastic places in the world, but those three reasons took me to Hong Kong again. I recommend you to visit there someday! Hong Kong is really compact city so if you have not enough time to travel, then it would be good to consider this place.

<San Diego trip that is the first trip after winter session>



  What do you do at weekend? I usually watch movies, do my homework or take rest to restart bracing next week. But I used to go on a journey to reward myself once a month. Last weekend, I went to the San Diego, California.  San Diego is a port city of California and It takes nearly 2 hours from Riverside to San Diego in car. Without own car, there are three way to go to San Diego ㅡ Bus, Train, Uber. I took the Uber with my three friends because Uber was cheapest(we payed for Uber $25 per person) and took less time. We visited famous tourist attraction. What did I see and what did I feel at San Diego? From now, follow me! 

  At the first day, We went to Seaport Village and Corona Island. At the Seaport Village, we could find many souvenir shops and famous navy's kiss statue and USS museum. If you want to buy souvenirs, you would be better to buy at the Seaport. I think there is the best place to buy valuable souvenirs! You can go to Corona island through ship leaved from Seaport. The price of round-trip ticket is $ 9.5 per person, but I recommend a one-way ticket. Because only one-way ticket is enough to experience the ship and taking a uber is so cheaper. At Corona Island, We tried to rent bicycle but we couldn't rent. Because every bicycle shop was close at 5'o clock so it is better to rent the bicycle before 4'o clock. At day's end, we watched the sunset of Corona beach that has many colors. You must watch the sunset at Corona beach!  At the second day, We went to Balboa Park, Old town, Gas Lamp. Balboa park is as big as you take a day to sightseeing but there is a lot of paid admission more than we expected. So many seals were lying on a beach in La Jolla. It was first time to see in my face, so It was wonderful but too scary. And the smell was terrible! The next destination was Old Town. I had high expectations of Old Town, but we arrived after night set. But the night of Old Town is also awesome, and had a own vibe. If I go to San Diego one more time, It maybe because I wonder day Old Town. Gas Lamp has so many pubs and clubs. Don't forget bring your passport! I had no choice but to see them at great way off. The last day's schedule is see the Little Italy that was near the accommodation. There's not many visitors but I really want to recommend you to visit Little Italy. Because the road of Little Italy was peaceful like Europe and the restaurants were perfect.


  I'm 90 percent satisfied with San Diego trip, that was the first trip after winter session. The reason why I'm 90 percent satisfied with San Diego is that we wasted money paid 2 days pass for public transportation and couldn't see the day Old Town. I recommend San Diego to UCR Extension students who want to go away for the weekend. I'll miss the sunshine of Corona Island, feel like I'm in Europe, beautiful sunset and music that were with me at that time.

The State of Kuwait

          Have you ever asked yourself "how many countries are in this world?" In this world, there are 196 countries. Every country has its own language, culture and history. In Asia, specifically in the Middle East, Kuwait is located there.

           Kuwait is an Arabic country which has shared borders with Saudi Arabia and Iraq. It is in the northern edge of Eastern Arabia at the tip of the Arabian Gulf. As of 2016, Kuwait has a population of 4.2 million people; 1.3 million are Kuwaitis and 2.9 million are expatriates according to "Public Authority for housing Welfare”. In addition, Kuwait area is 17,820 km, so it is considered a small country in comparison with its neighbors. Also, Kuwait City is the capital of Kuwait

The Early History of Kuwait:

        All countries around the world have their own history. Sometimes, two countries or more have a related history. However, Kuwait history is very special because it belongs to the old Romans empire. Many Roman ruins were discovered in Failka island, which is one of the famous Kuwait islands. The Roman ruins are from 2000 BC. For example, old Roman currency has been found there. Also, a big Roman temple has been discovered under the dust. In addition, Kuwait used to be a major road for the old Romans, Also, the earliest evidences of human habitation dates back 8000 BC in As-Subiya, which is an area located in northern Kuwait.

The recent History of Kuwait:

        Kuwait was protected by Great Britain from 1899 until February 1961 when Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, who is 11^th Ruler of Kuwait, cancelled and ended the British protectorate. Also, he had created the modern constitution of Kuwait, and he had made Kuwait a democratic country, so he is regarded as the founder of modern Kuwait. In 1938, the economy of Kuwait was born when oil was discovered that led it to a big transition changing into an exportable country, which has exported oil to the world. On 26 February 1990, Kuwait was annexed and invaded by Iraq. During the Iraq occupation, more than 1,000 Kuwaiti civilians were killed. In addition, more than 600 Kuwaitis went missing. Also, the Iraq army has burned oil wells. After a series of failed diplomatic negotiations, The United States led a coalition to remove the Iraq Forces from Kuwait.

On 26 February19991, Kuwait became free from Iraq occupation. After the war, Kuwait has tried to refresh its economy, and rebuild the infrastructure and the damaged buildings.  After a short time, Kuwait succeeded and it became the fourth richest country in the world by virtue of its people and its leader Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah then.
